Arrow My car of the day, new 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost.

A Rolls-Royce has never been a drivers car, it's the kind of car to be driven in than to actually drive yourself. It's the main rival to Bentley's Flying Spur and it looks quite a thing too. Weighing in at 2.5 tons and starting at £208,000 before taxes, this Ghost is an all new design and features air springs and adaptive dampers with four wheel-drive and it now has four wheel steering. There is also a 12 Volt active anti-roll bar fitted to the multi-link rear axle that works with a front mounted camera to react accordingly when a lump, bump or tiresome compression is detected. The 6.5 litre V12 pumps out 563 BHP and 627 Lb of torque with a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds and limited to 155 MPH. If you tick too many boxes in the options list then you'll find yourself in the upper reaches of £300,000 and when stacked up against Bentley's Flying Spur, it's a more expensive offering with the Bentley starting at £163,000 and don't forget the Mercedes Maybach S650 which would make another interesting alternative.

For me, in this day and age it's unacceptable for a luxury car worth hundreds of £000's not to have electric motors on the drive train. Electric is the ultimate way to refinement and the best way to pull tons of motor around too.
Otherwise, I love it.

If you can afford to go this route then I'm sure the vast majority of them will have every conceivable extra and much much more. The cost of these cars are no more than chicken feed if you have an oil field under your farm or sand dune.

It looks what it is though, luxury and lots of it. It's a yes from me.

Must be an age thing as they are starting to grow on me, wonderful engineering. I'd take a Bentley over it any day though.
