Exclamation My car of the day, new Genesis G80.

Yes we know that SUV's are all the rage but if you want to have a car that sits in the premium car market then it has to be the executive saloon. The BMW 5 series has always been the standard bearer but now there's this Genesis G80. With it's striking combination of the over sized G-Matrix grille flanked by slim quad headlamps. Take a close look at the back and there's a resemblance of the Aston Martin Rapid and it has the right amount of chrome to make it as posh as any rival. Look inside the cabin and it's oozing with class with a big 14.5 inch screen, soft touch plastics and the build quality appears on the money. The car featured here has a 2.5 litre turbo petrol engine but there's also a 2.2 litre diesel and an all- electric version that's good for 310 miles that's due later this year. The G80 has been developed at the Nurburgring but not with racing in mind. This is purely a more comfort orientated car with luxury in mind. The G80 will start at £41,000 which on balance appears well priced and offering good value, but some of you could still think it's not quite up there with the likes of the 5 series.

Like it?

That is a weird concoction of styles, shades of Mercedes and Audi at the back, the front grille is just plain weird.
Not for me

Someone went out on a Friday night, drunk far too much, got up at midday on saturday and designed it. Design manager signed off the car after going out on an all night bender Sunday evening and couldn't be bothered to take any painkillers on Monday morning and just clicked authorise.

Its a mixture of Volvo, Audi sportback and mercedes cls ..... its a no from me.

I LOVE IT!!!!! Interior is better than a Merc, reliability should be comparable, it's cheaper - would love to sit in one - like any car, body colours often change the overall look - dark blue and different wheel rims will improve the rendition greatly. 5 series are not comfortable executive cars - beemer go on about drivers cars as do the press, but 98% time people are stuck in heavy traffic...

I'd like to see and drive one before making a decision on that one, I'm intrigued at the very least.
