Dealing with SUV roofs

I’m not that short, but the idea of claying, polishing and waxing the missus Discovery Sport’s roof is driving me mad. Spent the day decontaminating and polishing the rest of the car, ready for waxing in the morning, but reckon I’ll be leaving the roof for another time.
How do people get enough height and leverage to machine polish the roofs on SUV’s? I can’t get a secure reach and footing.

A hop up should do the trick nicely.

Use a small scaffolding (mobile) so my footing is correct and have the correct view.

When it snowed earlier in the year I used my dog/car drier to blow all the snow off. Didn't want any snow induced marring!
