Wet washer cleans them up nicely

 

Not something we've ever done, but know many people that have, and that's to get a can of black fabric dye and spray them :thumb:

 

Take em out and stick them through your mates dishwasher

@ systemclenz black or dark Gray spray paint actually works better

 

Thanks, don't think they need spraying, they're in decent nick just want an easy way to get grass and crud off them easier..

 

I've just done mine. A stiff brush whilst dry to remove the bulk of the crud, then a good soaking of carpet shampoo. Left to dwell then worked in with a stiff brush. Pressure washed until the water runs clear- is amazing how much these bloody things hold on to! Left to dry and now looking for a way to waterproof them...

I second the dry brushing method to get rid of the crud before getting wet.

 

How about Fabsil to waterproof them? Have also heard of people using Thompsons Water Seal, which you'd usually use on brick or stone. Tempted to try it.

 

Wax for Barbour jackets, put tin in hot water until liquid then apply with a bristle cut down paintbrush. Brush well into fabric.

Or Nikwax for Paramo jackets?
